Fishery
Rules for Les Coombes.
1. All persons visiting the fishery do so at their own risk. The owners
accept no responsibility for any injury, loss or damage to persons
or property, howsoever caused.
2. Prior to fishing
or any activity, for insurance compliance we are obliged to require
your specific acknowledgement and acceptance of Rule 1.
3. All anglers and non-anglers must sign the
disclaimer form accepting these rules before going onto the fishery.
4. The catch return sheet must be filled in with your name and address
BEFORE fishing can commence. Details of all fish caught, including
those returned, must be entered at the end of the day. This includes
nil returns.
5. Wading is only allowed in designated areas. In ‘no wading’
areas anglers are NOT allowed to enter the water, except when landing
or returning fish.
6. A maximum of 3 rods per angler - only one rod to be used at any
time. No pegging of rods/reels to the bank at any time.
7. Under no circumstances must rods be left unattended in the water
at any time.
8. Fishing is by fly only, using generally accepted tackle and techniques.
Maximum hook size 8. Only flies dressed on single point hooks are
allowed. These must be barbless (conventional hooks with barbs removed
are acceptable). double, treble, multi-hook flies, boobies, flicker
spoons and propellers are not allowed.
9. No fishing allowed in the two smaller lakes, only the main lake.
10. Boat hire is included ,single person use only. Life jackets will
be provided and must be used at all times when in the boat.
11. No monofilament line of more than 10lb breaking strain, or less
than 4lb breaking strain shall be used. Line must not be discarded.
It is dangerous to wildlife as well as unsightly. Please take it home
with you.
12. Please abide by the country code and either take all litter home
with you or place it in the bins provided.
13. Please keep to the paths.
14. An angler can bring one spectator but not under the age of 16.
15. All fish caught must be landed with a landing net, Knotless landing
nets must be carried. Those fish to be kept must be dispatched quickly,
fish to be returned should be handled gently (preferably while still
in the water). Any fish, which shows signs of bleeding or stress,
must be killed and counted as part of the limit.
16. Anglers are expected to behave in a polite and courteous manner
at all times. They must not deposit litter, feed wildlife (this could
be misinterpreted as ground baiting) or behave in any manner detrimental
to the fishery or other anglers.

17. Any person found fishing outside the permitted hours, taking more
fish than the current permit allows, or taking fish by illegal methods,
will be prosecuted.
18. The management and officials of the fishery reserve the right
to examine any equipment, bag, clothing or vehicle of anyone visiting
the fishery.
19. The management reserve the right to expel or refuse admission
to any person as and when they deem it necessary.
20. The use of Ultrabite or any other bite attracting substance is
strictly forbidden. Any angler found using a substance or with a substance
on their person will be banned.
21. Please allow 30 yards between yourself and another angler.
22. Smoking is permitted, please use the ashtrays provided on site,
thank you.
23. No dogs.
24. No shared rods except with the management’s prior consent
for tuition purposes.
Anyone failing to comply with the rules will be asked to leave the
fishery immediately.
THE MANAGEMENT OF THE FISHERY DEVISED THESE RULES TO TRY AND ENSURE
THAT ALL ANGLERS ARE ABLE TO ENJOY THE FISHERY.
