Les Coombes is a developing fly fishery based in the Haute -Vienne, a mere 7 minutes from our base in La Borderie.

This is a privately owned and exclusive trout lake - strictly fly only.

Fishing is currently only available to guests at Le Petit Verger or clients who have casting tuition with Tony.

Our guests can fish the lake from as little as 10 euros for 4 hours on a catch and release basis.

Prices are higher if you wish to take some trout.

The lake affords the fly angler the opportunity of fishing a well stocked lake with minimum interruption.

A small boat is also available. Life jackets are supplied on site.

The rules have been put in place to protect the lake, the fish and the surrounding flora and fauna, and of course to provide the angler with the best possible fishing conditions.

Stocked last year with rainbow and golden trout averaging 250 grammes, these little chaps now come in at an average weight in excess of 2.5 kilos and they are still being fed! There are carp to at least 3,5 kg which will take a fly - see photo's.

Hard fighting and not always easy to catch, these trout are some of the largest, if not the largest trout in the Limousin region.

Why not be amongst some of the first anglers to test your wits against these wily trout.

Plans for 2012 include:

• Group fly fishing introduction days - up to 8 persons.
• Aerators being placed in the lake to simulate river current conditions.
• Accommodation available for up to 8 persons.
• Fish stocks will include tiger trout, blue trout and brown trout.
• A full size smoker will be on site so you can catch and cook your trout.
• Canteen facilities will be made available.
