If you have found our site via an older advert, we have moved about 20 kilometres downstream from Champagnac-La-Rivière where we were based for 6 years.

Situated in the Haute-Vienne department of the Limousin, within a few kilometres of the Dordogne and the Charente regions, we offer rental of Le Petit Verger to anyone wanting a quiet peaceful relaxing holiday, a fishing holiday or a house hunting venture. Or indeed, a mixture of all three.

The hamlet of La Borderie is very tranquil little corner of the Haute-Vienne situated on a small lane with very little traffic. We do hear the odd tractor at work in the fields, but a lot of the time all that we hear is the birds.

The Charente/ Dordogne/Haute Vienne borders normally receive around 2000 hours of sunshine a year on average.

Le Petit Verger is a completely detached, double glazed and insulated, self contained light and airy gite consisting of an open plan fitted kitchen/lounge/bedroom and separate shower room with vanity unit/sink and loo. A double bed is provided as standard although should you wish to have two single beds, these are available on request at no extra charge.

There is half an acre of gardens as well as a private terrace adjacent to the gite. The front garden has mature trees shrubs etc.,and you have your own driveway to the gite allowing safe off road parking.

All bed linen and towels/tea towels, are supplied, and the kitchen is fully equipped. All of our guests receive a welcome pack comprising of 2 bottles of wine, bottled water, milk, coffee, tea and sugar to get you started.

We provide you with UK free to air TV, DVD player, Radio/CD player and free WiFi Internet access. We have a laptop for you to use, if you don't want to bring your own. Printing/copying facilities are available in our office should you need them. Also, a travel iron, hairdryer, OS maps of local areas, maps of the Haute Vienne, books to read and printed maps to local supermarkets are provided. If you enjoy playing the guitar, we have a 6 string acoustic for your pleasure and use.

If you enjoy coarse fishing, we can offer tackle hire at very reasonable rates, arrange for permits and provide detailed directions to the venue of your choice.

If you enjoy fly fishing, we also offer tackle hire and a comprehensive fly tying kit*, and library of books on the subject to sit in the sunny garden and read at your leisure with a cool beer or two. * We make a very small charge for hooks, but materials are free.

We can guarantee you a friendly welcome to this part of France. Life runs at a slower pace here. The local food is superb and the wines..........well you'll have to taste them for yourself.

Having only lived here since Sept 2004 we are still discovering the Haute-Vienne for ourselves. House hunters are very welcome as we can offer advice and help based on our experiences on buying property and settling into a home in France. We also have good relations with a number of local estate agents(immobiliers).

A BBQ is always available for your use. We have two pushbikes which you are welcome to use for no charge, but at your own risk.

We supply you with a set of boules for those summer evenings when you can play in the private garden.

There are a great many local events throughout the year ranging from local french markets through to jazz concerts. We usually have all the information to hand for you in order that you can plan a weeks entertainment and excursions with little trouble.
